Hello Pretties,
We haven’t talked hair in a while so it is the perfect opportunity to share the treatment or rather product that has been keeping my curls happy and hydrated during these cold and dry winter months. I am sure it will work wonders on your locks as well.
Coconut oil!!! I know you must be tired of hearing the coconut oil rage but really it’s the application method what has made all the difference on my hair. I am positive if you incorporate it to your regimen it will not only combat dryness but also help with growth, shine and strengthen your strands.
When purchasing a coconut oil make sure you get the purest form, unrefined/cold pressed virgin coconut oil. Let’s get to the steps.
Step 1:
Wash your hair with Shampoo ONLY, DO NOT add conditioner or anything else (The Aussie Moist line I am loving both the shampoo, conditioner and 3 minute miracle)
Step 2:
Part your hair in 4 sections; work with one section at a time and section into even smaller pieces
Step 3:
Gently finger detangle or use a comb
Step 4:
Add oil from root to ends to each small pieces you have sectioned, make sure it is well saturated (once you have applied it to all sections it should feel drenched)
Step 5:
Now take a microfiber towel or cotton t-shirt, wet it and put it in the microwave for 30 to 40 seconds, then wring it out so it doesn’t burn your skin and wrap your hair in it until it is no longer warm, repeat this step 2 to 3 times (the steam in the towel will help your hair absorb the oil)
Step 6:
Style your hair WITHOUT adding any other product, I would recommend a bun (if you need to, add more oil and water to lay your edges or fly away hair)
***You keep the oil in your hair for 2 DAYS, adding absolutely nothing else but water and/or coconut oil.***
Step 7:
Wash your hair as you would normally; shampoo and conditioner
The coconut oil is going to bring moisture back into your hair. The reason for not adding anything else is to let the coconut oil do its job without the interruption on any other product.
I recommend you this once a week or every two weeks. You can also pair it with the pre-poo treatment I have previously shared, here’s the link just in case you missed it.
